Program Information

General Description of what students will be doing at this Site:

CalFresh Outreach (CFO) is focused on promoting the CalFresh food and CalFresh Healthy living/SNAP-ED Nutrition Programs. The CFO program will be strategizing and implementing virtual and physical outreach methods.

CalFresh Food is California’s name for the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly known as the Food Stamp program). CalFresh provides additional resources to put healthy and nutritious food on the table. The program issues monthly electronic benefits (EBT) that can be used to buy food at many markets and food stores, including farmers market. Our bilingual team focuses on the most needed areas of our Counties, connecting families and individuals to CalFresh benefits by completing applications, advocating, and providing education to reduce fear and stigma associated with applying for benefits.

CalFresh Healthy Living (CFHL/SNAP-ED) is a program tailored to low-income and CalFresh Food eligible families and individuals. This program aims to raise awareness on education that supports a healthy lifestyle and is designed to promote well-being, nutrition, movement, family, and culture.
