Program Information

General Description of what students will be doing at this Site: BBBS of SCC is seeking a Social Media Intern to assist the agency in the development of a communications plan followed by direct implementation of social media marketing strategies and activities that promote the agency's programs and mission.

Key Responsibilities:

* Work with agency staff, volunteers, the Board of Directors, clients, volunteers, families, local businesses, BBBS affiliates throughout North America and other community partners.

* Assist the Fund Development Committee and agency programs in developing a communications plan.

* Produce content that supports the social media marketing strategies and activities determined by the communications plan.

* Provide support for agency fund development and program awareness events.

* Work with agency staff to ensure that content is culturally appropriate and sensitive to the communities that we serve.

* Assist with the planning and coordination of awareness activities and fund development campaigns.

Desired Intern Characteristics:

* Excellent communications skills, particularly listening and writing.

* Education or experience equivalent to two years of relevant coursework or experience in the field or a related field.

* Basic knowledge and experience implementing communications plans and strategies.

* Ability to work with others of diverse ethnic, cultural, socio-economic, religion, sexual and political orientations.

* Ability to work independently with moderate supervision.

* Working knowledge of a personal computer, experience with Google mail and suites, MS Office software including work and comfort/ familiarity with all standard social media platforms.

* You have reliable transportation.
