Organization Description

Our mission is to develop healthy leaders and community, one leader, one family at a time. We offer support and advocacy for children and families in Vista, CA to flourish in life: academic, socialemotional learning, food insecurity, and other areas as needed.

The NORTH COUNTY OUTREACH INITIATIVE (NCOI) provides:

  • Community service learning students with an opportunity to tutor/mentor two to three K-5 children in greatest need in a safe, nurturing environment at a local elementary or middle school in the Vista Unified School District. 

  • Interns with an opportunity to develop a mutually beneficial internship plan aligned with their advanced/capstone courses of study. (e.g. Advanced Spanish: 40+ hours, HD495: 90 hours) 

We welcome community service learning students/interns to engage in a mutually beneficial partnership in the following areas: reading, English language development, BASIC math, social emotional learning and character formation.

High Priorities: K-8 Math/Science, Potential Teacher Education Credential Candidates, Spanish Fluency to Assist English Learners, Human Development
