California Academy of Family Physicians

Organization Description

California Academy of Family Physicians (CAFP) is the only organization solely dedicated to advancing the specialty of family medicine in the state. Since 1948, CAFP has championed the cause of family physicians and their patients. CAFP is critically important to primary care, with a strong collective voice of more than 10,000 family physician, family medicine resident and medical student members. CAFP is the largest primary care medical society in California and the largest chapter of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Program Information

The communication interns will work on a variety of projects related to marketing and membership efforts for CAFP. These projects may include: developing and distributing email and social media communication campaigns to members, researching media contacts and developing connections with media sources, creating and editing short videos for membership and program promotion, editing and coordinating content for the quarterly magazine, and updating/editing the CAFP website.

Interns should be proficient at connecting with the CAFP team virtually through email, video, chat and phone, and communicating throughout the process of projects. At minimum, interns should be proficient at Microsoft Word and Google products, with an understanding of Wordpress and Adobe Creative products.
