Sactown Magazine

Organization Description

Sactown magazine is the Sacramento region’s largest and most respected city magazine, with an average circulation of 40,000 and with over 30 national awards for publishing excellence in the areas of editorial, design and photography—more than any other magazine in Sacramento’s history. Among those awards is the Maggie Award for Best City & Metropolitan Magazine by the Western Publishing Association. Sactown was founded in 2006 by journalists Rob Turner and Elyssa Lee in an effort to bring a national quality magazine to California’s capital city. While Rob was born and raised in Sacramento, he spent a decade in New York City, where he met Elyssa at Money magazine. Between them, they have written for publications as diverse as New York, InStyle, Money, Fortune, SmartMoney, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Metropolis and U.S News & World Report. Sactown covers the region, from Davis to Folsom and from Elk Grove to El Dorado Hills, Roseville and Auburn.
