Organization Description

We provide pediatric occupational and physical therapy to facilitate developmental and functional skills in children in clinic-based, and community/school based settings. Our clinic based services include specialties in sensory integration and feeding therapy.

Program Information

Intern will:

  • Create 3 client tools for sensory regulation (ie. sensory bottles, social story, tactile book, visual schedule)
  • Organize cabinets by theme and/or function (ie. pincer grasp activities)
  • Be able to safely set up and take down an obstacle course, according to supervisor's treatment plan.
  • Maintain safe and clean treatment environment.

By the end of this opportunity, students will have learned:

  • Will understand the difference between occupational therapy and physical therapy in a pediatric setting.
  • Can describe types of functional outcomes that occupational therapy addresses in a pediatric setting.
  • Can describe the difference between a diagnosis and a functional outcome.
Health & Safety

For Level II OT fieldwork students, fingerprinting also required, as they would work in schools, and they may have unsupervised time with minors.

  • Must be 18 or older
