Organization Description

We at the Sierra Harm Reduction Coalition provide a suite of community-based Harm Reduction services in El Dorado County to improve the quality of life of people who use drugs. We believe in the safety of our community. We respect the rights and autonomy of people who use drugs. We help each other help each other.

Program Information

Harm reduction supplies exchanges and deliveries to people who use drugs. In the field outreach to people who use drugs and are experiencing homelessness. Case management. Outreach to community stakeholders. Navigation of participants to services, including substance use treatment, housing, behavioral health, primary care, etc.

Health & Safety

You will be hiking through encampments of people experiencing homelessness, and this can be strenuous. Typical risks associated with driving. A low risk of needlestick - do not grab the sharp end. There is some risk associated with interacting with people experiencing psychosis, though this has not occurred in our organization.
