Service Learning OpportunitiesAt — Step Up Tutoring
Students are needed to remotely tutor and mentor third - sixth grade students from underserved areas of LAUSD in math and english providing help with homework and emotional encouragement and support. Tutoring is done remotely at the time of the tutors choosing, twice a week for 45 minutes. Gain valuable leadership and real work experience while making a huge difference in a child's life...all from a convenient time and location of your choosing.
Students will gain valuable leadership and mentorship skills. They will learn to manage their schedules, prepare for lessons, manage the tutoring session, problem solve and work as part of a team to support students.
On-line training that is self paced and additional on-line resources for reference.
Live training --one hour before you begin.
On-going evaluation, oversight and feedback along with office hours for any questions and workshops for professional development and fun.
Supervision and privacy are taken seriously. No personal information is ever exchanged --tutors will receive a Step Up email, texting App called Revolve and a Zoom account, waivers are signed by both parties. We have a weekly reporting system for feedback and there is alway someone to contact if there are any issues to report. We are a completely remote program.
