Hybrid opportunity: DAYS Long BeachAt — DAYS Long Beach
For over 50 years DAYS Long Beach has served low-income, under-served youth and families in the Long Beach area. As a trusted resource to the community, we provide youth with opportunities to grow academically and personally through educational, leadership and character development programs. Our services allow students to practice skills they have learned in the classroom, increase their desire to learn, and build positive relationships within the community. We are committed to improving the quality of life for children and their families. For many of the youth we serve, DAYS Long Beach is a lifeline to changing their lives and becoming productive and confident young adults. DAYS Long Beach provides free programming in the following three areas: Youth Education and Development, Leadership & Academic Success, and Community Engagement.
Student will identify the needs of underserved Long Beach families through engagement
Student will gain knowledge of gender, racial variability and gain a deeper understanding of ethnic and vulnerability issues among youth and families. Students will development and strengthen knowledge of the non-profit world.
Students are trained by Ex. Director, staff and/or board member. Training is offered on Zoom or in-person.
DAYS Long Beach reviews and evaluates our COVID guideline recommendations weekly. At this, all people entering DAYS Long Beach are required to wear a mask and follow other Covid 19 policies and each person must sign in and check temperature at the front office.
