American Academy of Pediatrics-Orange County

Program Information

At AAP-OC, the Orange County Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatricians (AAP), we work tirelessly to promote optimal health for Orange County’s children by promoting pediatric excellence through education of our pediatric care providers, our numerous initiatives, and advocacy on the state and local level.

We offer many timely Continuing Medical Education topics at no charge to our chapter members. Our presenters are not only local experts, but also nationally recognized lecturers.

Member support helps local medical students and residents continue to attend all chapter events at no cost to them. This education of the next generation of pediatricians is vital to the future of pediatrics in Orange County. As such, we have an active Young Physician Committee that hosts events like Life After Residency and our annual AAP-OC Job Fair.

We continue to be successful in obtaining grant funding, receiving more Healthy People 2020 grants than any other AAP chapter. Additionally, we have our popular Reach Out and Read program that distributes more than 100,000 new, developmentally appropriate books at Orange County physician’s offices each year.

We collaborate with organizations like The Orange County Health Care Agency on projects that promote our shared values. As part of AAP CA we work with state legislators to pass bills that will benefit the lives of children throughout our state.
