Organization Description

WIC provides supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding support and referral to community resources for Women, Infants, and Children. Our mission is "guiding and supporting families an the community to promote health through nutrition education, knowledge and compassion.

Program Information

Student intern will be: 

  • Collaborating with community partner, First 5 Merced
  • Develop of strategy for dissemination as an incentive to WIC participant participation (coming to appointments).
  • Preparing information for parents on engaging children in reading activities.
  • Preparing tools to track demographic data on participants served and number of bilingual books.
  • Develop an assessment tool to gage parents' use of books with children.
