Service Learning OpportunitiesAt — NAMI Ventura County
Students will be responsible for development of a NAMI Ventura County NAMIWalks Business Plan. The plan developed will be used for NAMI Ventura County yearly NAMIWalk season, to guide NAMIWalk Manager, staff, volunteers, teams, team captains and walkers through the yearly NAMIWalk process. Students will also be asked to personally go through several eliminates of the yearly May NAMI Ventura County NAMIWalk. Yearly we will ask for volunteers to work as NAMI Ventura County NAMIWalks Coordinators and Advisors to join the NAMI Walk Manager and staff to support the timeline, guidance and activities through the yearly May NAMIWalk.
NAMI Ventura County is interested in working directly with faculty from varied disciplines to build service-learning projects that support course outcomes.
The will have achieved the must needed development of a NAMI Ventura County NAMIWalk Business Plan. Learn the responsibilities, guidance, coaching, research, team work, management, support system, fundraising and much more for a large non profit organization as NAMI Ventura County to bring thousands of local citizens from the community together to fundraise, and raise awareness, support, education and advocate, bring attention to "Stop the Stigma" for the most vulnerable population into today's society "The Mentally Ill".
Learn the guidelines for a yearly NAMIWalk; Learn and Provide Volunteer engagement; timelines and much to develop NAMI Ventura County NAMIWalks Business Plan. Attend NAMI National NAMIWalks training sessions during walk season.
Students will be provided COVID 19 protocol training following National, State and County Guidelines.
