Opportunity Summary 

A Just Communities service-learning opportunity is for your benefit to receive training and mentoring, and to provide valuable experience for future job selection, application, and performance in the field of Social Justice Education, Civic Engagement, and community organizing.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

By the end of this opportunity, you will have been a part of working with community to: Promote Social Justice Education; Teach the importance of understanding race and history; Equip participants with the information and tools to effectively community organize and become civically engaged and involved;
and support participants to develop individual and team action plans to create change in their school and communities.

Opportunity Training 

All service-learning students will be provided an onboarding and have other opportunities of professional development.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Participants will be asked to attend a psychological and Mental Health First Aid Training. In addition to becoming a mandated reporter.
