Opportunity Summary 

During this internship, the student will have opportunities to develop and implement their own marketing program, to learn about business investments and expenses, and to interact with clients. The goal of this internship is to develop the student's experience and skills in a small business setting and for the student to learn what it takes to own a business.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

1) How to develop and implement marketing strategies that meet the interest and needs of potential new business clients. 2) The importance of proper business expense accounting, through budgeting, cost analysis, and investments. 3) Sales tactics, marketing tactics, insurance basics, and business processes through weekly training meetings designed specifically for the internship program 4) How to interact appropriately and effectively with current clients, through claims, reviews, or other business related needs.

Opportunity Training 

The first week will involve training, shadowing, and agency meetings to help the intern acclimate to the internship. There will also be an internship coordinator available at all times to help the intern develop their projects, implement their plans, or with day to day questions. Training and curriculum meetings will continue on a weekly basis after the first full week of training.
