Program Information This is a great opportunity for Pre-Healthcare college students and ESPECIALLY for gap year students (Pre-Med and Pre-PA). We have already hosted many students who wish to pursue a career in healthcare. The experience was mutually excellent and we wish to continue this relationship. In fact, one of our recent Internship graduates just started Medical School.You will be assisting the growth of a new Primary Care / Addiction Medicine Clinic in Huntington Beach. We manage Opioid Addiction with Suboxone (a very valuable skill to show on any professional school application... especially in the middle of a nationwide epidemic).Must be RESPECTFUL, well-groomed, well-dressed, no visible tattoos, no long nails, friendly, pro-active, enthusiastic to learn, and have EXCELLENT verbal communication skills. This expectation is the SAME as you will encounter in a Medical School Admissions Committee and by your future patients.You will accompany the Doctor into exam rooms and serve as his "chaperone" as this will enhance patient comfort level.Much of the responsibilities include: front and back office work, obtaining patient history, collecting vital signs, assisting physician in minor procedures, answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, keeping clinic clean, getting lunch for Doctor on "Patient Days," etc.
