The position of Student Assistant is a unique opportunity for college students interested in education as a career. Over the course of a semester, student interns will directly work with elementary school students under the supervision of professional teachers. You will provide much-needed assistance to the school in order to ensure the delivery of a high standard of education to the children and the school.
This service learning experience will offer candidates the important benefit of career exploration and provide an opportunity to better understand the theories, ideas, and practices of a student's discipline or major by actively engaging in a "hands-on," work-based, learning experience.
Student Assistants at our school will also have the opportunity to observe young children's behavior, which will enable them to better understand the children’s strengths or weaknesses in order to make improvements to the environment and facilitate learning.
All interns will receive dedicated training and assistance with their roles throughout the duration of their work placement.
We ask that interns stay off their cell phones while supervising students.
