Opportunity Summary 

Volunteers will serve as a tutor/mentor to 1 to 2 student(s) during the Study Companions Program on Monday, Tuesday, and/ or Thursday afternoons/ evenings. Our Study Companions Program meets Mondays from 4:30-5:45 PM in Carlsbad, and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-5:45 PM and 6:00-7:15 PM in Solana Beach. We train all volunteers to help their students with homework, reading, and math.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Each week, volunteers assist the same student with completing their homework. If homework is completed, Casa provides a wide variety of materials and resources for tutors and students to work on during the tutoring sessions. In addition, volunteers are encouraged to embrace the mentorship aspect of their role and to get to know their students to create a positive learning environment. Volunteers receive training and guidance on how to use the materials and best support their students.
