Placer County Museums Division

Organization Description

First established in 1948, the Placer County Museums Division has grown to operate seven regional museums that tell the diverse history of Placer County and its peoples. Admission to all our museums is free.

Our Archive and Collections Facility serves as the official repository for Placer County records, and houses historic collections of objects, photographs, and archival records from private donors as well.

Our robust student programs include Living History at the Bernhard Museum Complex as well as a Gold Rush program at our Gold Rush Museum.

To learn more about our individual museums, programming, or to plan your visit please refer to our navigation links or give us a call at (530) 889-6500. Follow us on Facebook or sign up for our newsletter to keep up to date with our upcoming events and latest projects.
