Sanford POWER Internship DetailsThe Sanford POWER internship program offers an opportunity for college students to learn from professionals in the Strength & Conditioning industry while gaining valuable experience in communication, program design, coaching philosophy, time management, leadership and motivational skills. Our internships are designed to be highly interactive with athletes, coaches, PT???s, Sports Nutrition and Sports Science/Research professionals. We value, and promote, a strong integrated approach between all departments within the Sanford Sports Performance Program.The POWER internship is a voluntary program with no financial compensation or benefits included. Most students accepted into the program are receiving college credit towards their BS or MS Degrees in the fields of Exercise Science or Kinesiology. The hours will vary based on time of the year and athlete training schedules.Interns are part of the POWER team, and as such are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times. Expectations for interns will be covered in detail before the program begins by the Director of POWER. Any intern not following these directives will be subject to termination. Our staff is here to help you bridge the gap between your theoretical knowledge from schooling and the practical world. Your internship should help prepare you for a career in the Sports Performance Profession. It is your responsibility to get everything out of the internship that you can. Being actively involved in training sessionsInternship duties vary slightly based on the experience of each individual entering into the program. However, all interns will be expected to complete the following tasks:1.	Commit to an agreed upon schedule for the duration of the internship and Always be on time.2.	Always represent Sanford POWER in a professional manner.3.	Follow our dress code (POWER or Neutral shirt and Neutral shorts or pants)4.	Assist in maintaining the integrity of the training area and the equipment 5.	Become familiar with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) training guidelines and progressions6.	Alert POWER staff immediately of any athlete injuries that may occur7.	Never just sit around. If there is idle time ask questions, read other strength coaches??? blogs, practice teaching lifts to each other or a coach, etc.8.	As an intern you will be a part of our Team and we will rely on you more than you can imagine. Sanford POWER incorporates the latest speed, agility, and strength technologies to customize our comprehensive approach.The cutting-edge approach taken by our team is built on a foundation of analytics, taking the thousands of data points generated from 3D Motion Capture, Force Plates, Velocity Based Tracking and Specialized Sport specific screens and translating it into reliable intelligence and actionable information. Our database of countless of pro athlete assessments provides further insight into athlete biomechanics and performance trends. We believe that accurate and individualized training prescription develops the physical qualities that allow athletes to excel and avoid injury. This combination of experience training and coaching elite athletes paired with advanced assessment and expert interpretation leads to more effective program design, appropriate training and ultimately healthier, stronger, higher performing athletes.
