Opportunity Summary 

• Complete training sessions on both Zoom/Skype technology and interacting with older adults
• Contact interested older adults and set up appointments to train them on the use of technology for communication
• Work (visually) with older adults to get them set up on Zoom/Skype
• Continue with scheduled sessions via Zoom/Skype to provide companionship to isolated older adults

The intern will demonstrate the learning outcomes by (1) demonstrating punctuality, (2) completing all training, (3) keeping all appointments with community seniors, and (4) showing respect and compassion for the seniors they assist.

Hybrid. All mentoring provided via zoom/phone.

Training:

To help the student achieve the proposed learning outcomes, I will (1) insure they receive adequate and continued training, (2) meet with interns regularly, and (3) provide feedback and growth opportunities as appropriate.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the internship, the student will be able to (1) recognize social isolation in homebound seniors, (2) respond to the social needs of homebound seniors, and (3) provide high-quality training and companionship to community dwelling seniors.
