Service-Learning OpportunitiesAt — Oxnard Performing Arts Center Corp (OPAC)
The nonprofit arm of the Oxnard Performing Arts & Convention Center, OPAC ("Oxnard Performing Arts Center Corporation") provides cultural and community programming by supporting, producing and presenting theater, dance, music, media/visual arts, residencies, and outside-the-box programs that are of, by and for Oxnard. We provide a dynamic venue for the community and presents unique and accessible cultural arts experiences. Every year we host a robust season of events featuring local and International as well as emerging and distinguished artists who help make Oxnard a vibrant and enriching place to live and visit. From mainstage acts in the theater and campus-wide festivals to intimate lectures and workshops, there is something for everybody at OPAC. Students can help with event coordination, marketing, social media, special projects, youth education programs, fundraising, facilities/ maintenance, and much more. At OPAC, we like to tailor internships to meet students' educational goals.
Depending on the type of service-learning project, students can improve their communication, marketing, public speaking, programming, event-hosting, social media, graphic design, filmmaking, and other skills.
All students will go through an orientation and any needed specific training for each aspect of their service-learning placement.
OPAC prides itself on caring for the health and well-being of its team, volunteers, and visitors. OPAC follows all federal, state, and local guidelines on health and safety.
