Opportunity Summary 

This is a great opportunity if you do not want to be cooped up indoors. You would be working with our Navigator Team serving the homeless where they are at; parks, street corners , behind stores, wherever they may be in Sacramento County. You will be helping them survive on the street, hooking them up with resources and getting them into housing programs.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

The student will have learned the ins and outs of all of the County service providers, the HMIS data base used for all of the unhoused, and most importantly how to engage and work with the homeless. This is exciting and rewarding work.

Opportunity Training 

You will be trained by our Homeless Outreach supervisor first and foremost. You will also receive training form Navigators working in the field. Shadowing will be an important part of your training.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

You will be thoroughly trained in the safety precautions all of our navigators must go through.
