Opportunity Summary 

You will be trained and supervised by a trained clinical therapist in a non profit setting focusing on perinatal mothers experiencing a complicated pregnancy or suffering from maternal mental health disorders. In office experience will include conducting patient and program evaluations, reporting, individual and group therapy and support groups, fundraising events, and other administrative duties for the Mental Health division.

Our students experience the impact charitable organizations have on our communities and the importance of mental health and wellbeing for all especially perinatal mothers. To learn various skills whilst shadowing trained professionals are invaluable but the true reward is making an immediate difference in someones life. My Brain & My Baby vision is to spread awareness, educate and reduce the stigma associated with maternal mental health disorders and influence future leaders to grow the initiative and positively impacting others.

Opportunity Training 

Students will learn to be positive influencers in the Maternal Mental Health realm. The students will learn how to facilitate small groups of perinatal mothers struggling with mental health, how to be active listeners, to deal with families dealing with critically ill infants and trauma, and to be a part of a team making a difference. Students will also be privy to the business and administrative aspects of a non profit organization. Commitment: • On-Site Training Sessions • Potential conference participation / workshops / classes • Shadow/conduct individual and group therapy sessions for perinatal mothers
