Tutor/MentorAt — American Indian Recruitment (AIR) Programs

Opportunity Summary 

Tutor/Mentor - student will tutor students within our academic program that offers restorative justice training to Native Youth in secondary education and will mentor students within various academic workshops designed to motivate and empower our students to pursue higher education.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Learning outcomes of our volunteer tutors/mentors will learn ideals on working in Tribal communities.

Opportunity Training 

2 workshops on working in Indian Country / working with native youth in the capacity of tutor/mentor

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Due to the nature of working with Native Youth our tutor/mentors will not discuss anything beyond academic portions of our project objectives. If for any reasons they are inclined to hear of any indications of safety concerns of the Youth they will report directly to our AIR Programs Staff for further review.

Opportunity Application Instructions 

We ask that the students have taken a course within American Indian History and some knowledge of Federal Indian Law.
