Program Information AIM Youth Mental Health is bridging the gap between research and access to care for youth struggling with their mental health by finding and implementing evidence-based treatments, empowering youth to discover their own mental health solutions, and training caring community members to create a safe holding place for youth in crisis. Our vision is simple: a world of mentally healthy youth.
General Description of what students will be doing at this Site: An intern at AIM Youth Mental Health will gain a wealth of knowledge in the nonprofit/health and human services field. A CHHS intern will be involved with community outreach, data entry and evaluation, general office support, programming, fundraising, events, marketing, and development.
Key Responsibilities:
*Fulfill tasks set out by the supervisor
*Attend weekly team meetings
*Perform research and data entry
*Research grant opportunities
*Assist in grant writing and reporting
*Participate in planning for three major events: Aim Scientific Symposium: Care in the Crisis, AIM Walk + Rally, and Annual Gala
*Marketing tasks as assigned
*Program support as assigned: AIM Ideas Lab, AIM Design Challenge, AIM Mental Health First Aid *Other duties as assigned
Desired Intern Characteristics: *Eager to learn *Excellent verbal and written communication skills *Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suites *Ability to multitask *Comfortable working independently and with team members *Positive attitude *Self-motivated
Interprofessional opportunities available for the student: At AIM, we believe that staff and interns should be well-rounded in the work that we do. There will be learning opportunities focused on different aspects of the organization that will immerse students into the nonprofit world as well as research conducted by world-renowned doctors on youth mental health and solutions.

Please provide details about trainings offered:
Youth Mental Health First Aid Training: Eight-hour course introduces common mental health challenges for youth and teaches a five-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations; among the topics covered are anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders including ADHD, and eating disorders. Certificate available upon completion.
