Opportunity Summary 

The goal of the internship is for the intern to have a grasp on all areas of running a small business. The internship is designed to help develop the intern's skillset in a way that is applicable to all kinds of business. Ideally, they will be able to implement the knowledge they have from their school curriculum, combined with the training and curriculum they receive during the internship, in a real life setting.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Intern will learn how to develop and implement a marketing plan, as well as measure the return on investment. Intern will be able to analyze business expenses, and will be able to articulate a justification for each expense. Intern will gain experience working in a business setting, interacting with clients, and attending business meetings.

Opportunity Training 

Through curriculum training and on the job experience, the intern will learn the basics of how insurance works, types of insurance, the claims process, and the role of an agency. With the assistance and guidance of the agent and agency, the intern will develop, propose, and implement a marketing plan that focuses on leveraging social media. The intern will learn about the expenses and income of the business. They will see first hand the decisions made regarding expenses, and the cost analysis of each investment.
