JCVC is a 501c3 community-based organization raising awareness of Juneteenth Celebration/Freedom Day origins, educating the community about the importance of Black history and heritage, while creating a platform for arts, entertainment, leadership, as well as health initiatives in the Ventura County area.

Operating hours are very flexible. Some volunteers are retired, others are working. Meetings are planned to accommodate everyone's schedules as much as possible. Usually, that means meeting in the evening. The number & frequency of the meetings very much depend upon the project.
