International Rescue Committee, Boise

Organization Description

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) helps people affected by humanitarian crises—including the climate crisis—to survive, recover and rebuild their lives. Founded at the call of Albert Einstein in 1933, the IRC is now at work in over 40 crisis-affected countries as well as communities throughout Europe and the Americas. We deliver lasting impact by providing health care, helping children learn, and empowering individuals and communities to become self-reliant, always seeking to address the inequalities facing women and girls.

Health & Safety

Covid Disclaimer: May work with unvaccinated population.

Part of the duties of this internship will occur with IRC staff (never alone) in a transitional housing facility. The IRC in Boise is planning for the next COVID transmission wave, and will be implementing a mitigation plan for the congregant housing facility in collaboration with a technical consultant hired by our HQ. We will expect the intern to pivot along with all IRC Boise staff and volunteers to the practices built into the mitigation protocols. IRC already requires all staff and volunteers to be vaccinated to do any client facing work.
