Behavioral Health Intern (MSWI or MSWII)At — Peach Tree Health
Depending on level in their education interns will have opportunities to provide case management/referral/advocacy for patients, may be asked to teach classes on Behavioral Health related topics, will make educational video's for posting on the agency's social media pages, work one to one with patients to provide therapy (MSWII) or mental health rehabilitation services(MSWII). Interns may also be asked to attend meetings or participate/assist at events held with other community agencies.
Students will learn how to complete biopsychosocial evaluations, create collaborative treatments plans and provide basic therapeutic interventions. Students will also have learned about the various resources available to client's in the community and the process to refer clients in order to provide case management. Students will additionally learn through attending meetings with administrative staff about fundamentals of the agency, such as funding sources, program evaluation, program planning, etc.
Students will be informed of and asked to enroll in various trainings provided in the community such as Mental Health First Aid or ASIST that are available in the community or online. They will also be able to shadow various agency therapist to learn/watch how interventions are used.
Students will be given training/provided with information regarding safety policies and practices at the agency. Students are required to be TB Tested, COVID vaccinations, flu vaccinations, and other vaccinations usually obtain in childhood.
