CSUMB Campus Health Center/Health Promotions & Education

Program Information

Responsible for providing social work services to CSUMB students who are patients of the Campus Health Center. Assesses patients' psychosocial needs and develops plan of care in concert with physicians, and physician assistants. Links patient to appropriate community and campus resources including information/referral to sources of financial assistance, transportation, food, housing, support groups. Provides short-term counseling to identify problems and facilitate needed referrals. Serves as patient advocate and liaison with physicians, families and campus community to ensure continuity of care.

Health & Safety

Possibility of exposure to bacterial/ viral illnesses, blood-borne pathogens, cleaning/disinfecting agents and/or chemicals.

1.) Knowledge & practice of all safety measures, including universal precautions (hand washing, gloves, masks, eye protection). 2) Observe all medical practices and procedures.
