Monterey County Rape Crisis Center

Organization Description

The Monterey County Rape Crisis Center (MCRCC) is a non-profit agency whose mission is to advocate for all victims and survivors of sexual assault and child sexual abuse, to prevent sexual violence in our community through education, and to provide ongoing support and healing to survivors of sexual assault.

Founded in 1972, as the Monterey Rape Crisis Center, the center is governed by a board of directors and serves the community with 20 full time staff and over 35 volunteers. In 2007, we became the Monterey County Rape Crisis Center and now serve not only the Monterey Peninsula but all of the communities of Monterey County.

We are sensitive to the diversity of our community with regard to gender, race, color, ethnicity, language, age, religion, national origin, sexual orientation and people with disabilities.
