Academic Advisor InternshipAt — SteppingUP by OCCHC
SteppingUP’s College Awareness Program (CAP) provides low-income, first generation junior high and high school students with the knowledge and resources to pursue a college education. Academic Advisors carry out this mission by working directly with their own caseload of 4-10 students and providing them with a comprehensive set of services and activities in an effort to generate the skills and motivation necessary to complete and succeed in a program of post-secondary education.
-How to support youth and create access to higher education -How to plan and present relevant curriculum to clients -Topics related to equity and education -How to maintain accurate records of contact and activities with students
Full day orientation and ongoing trainings throughout the semester.

Interested students will need to email their resume to Stephanie Cohen (stephanie@occhc.org), complete an internship application and participate in a virtual interview, and submit to a background check (completed virtually, at no cost to the applicant).
