Organization Description

The Emily Shane Foundation empowers underserved middle school students to succeed through our SEA (Successful Educational Achievement) Program. We provide one-on-one after-school academic tutoring and mentorship to those struggling in school and at risk of falling through the cracks. Students “pass it forward” by doing a good deed for each session, promoting kindness and social responsibility. Our work fosters academic growth, builds confidence, and inspires lasting change. In Ventura County, we currently serve Rio Del Valle Middle School and may return to Ocean View Junior High in 2025–2026.

Health & Safety

Depending on the position, there will be photography and recording of sessions if the student is applying to be a mentor/tutor.

  • Background Check (e.g. fingerprinting/livescan, driving record)
  • Must be 18 or older
  • TB Test
