Graphic Design for Posters, Social Media, & NewslettersAt — Homeless To Forever Foundation

Opportunity Summary

The Homeless to Forever Foundation (HTTF) is a non-profit organization focused on animal rescue in Southern California. Our principal objective is to provide adoption placement for rescued cats, dogs, and other animals scheduled for euthanasia in local shelters. With a staff of all volunteers, we host weekly adoption fairs for the rescued animals and provide fostering until they find their forever homes.

We are getting back into having regular email blasts, newsletters, and other marketing graphic designs. We need ~5 volunteers who can make posters/fliers for social media, email blasts, and to print based on criteria given by the HTFF leader.

Projects include:

  • Graphic design support - developing flyers, newsletters, email blasts, and social media graphic design projects.
  • Redesigning and updating our website and e-commerce shop and listing animals in our Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet portals, which showcase our animals for adoption.
  • Researching for and writing grants (which makes this a great project for students looking to go into entrepreneurship, business development, government or political grant writing, and anything literary).

We are looking for:

  • self-starters
  • those with initiative
  • students who can spread their work throughout the week (not just on one day or on the weekends only)
  • communication & progress on projects every week

Although our opportunities are online/remote and we offer very flexible and accommodating schedules for projects, it has been our experience that students who only have a brief time to work, such as those who can only work on a weekend or one day a week, are not as successful as students who can spread their work out over the week.  So, please make sure you are able to commit to completing some work on your projects throughout the week.

Opportunity Training

We have a board member who works as a graphic designer for TV. He can help here and there. For example, we had a youth volunteer who did not know how to do the scan code and he was able to show her how to do so.

We will have daily and weekly communication. I like to meet via Google Meet at least once a week.
