Opportunity Summary 

SAFE Family Justice Centers (formerly Safe Alternatives for Everyone (SAFE)) is a progressive nonprofit that specializes in serving victims of abuse and youth at risk. In 2019, SAFE Family Justice Centers and Riverside County Family Justice Centers merged to expand services to survivors and youth who reside in the county.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Our interns have the ability to: • Become a certified Domestic Violence Counselor • Work with survivors of domestic violence, child abuse, elder abuse, human trafficking, and sexual assault in their journey to safety, justice, and long-term stability • Scope of work includes but is not limited to conducting needs assessments, creating individualized safety plans, applying for state assistance programs, applying for and educating on restraining orders, and participating in outreach events • Shadow and assist senior advocates with cause month education/activities, planning and implementing youth programming for ages 5- to 17-year-olds through our Police Activities League, creating social media posts about relevant work in the community

Opportunity Training 

Ongoing topic training, victim assistance training, domestic violence counselor training.
