Turlock Community Gardens

Organization Description

TCG is a 0.6 acre, 45 plot community garden. We seek to work inclusively and collaboratively, through sustainable gardening practices, to produce food locally, build community, and provide an experiential learning environment. We value and celebrate all types of diversity in working to produce food which fosters and promotes healthy lifestyles and helps build and maintain strong community bonds.

Health & Safety

The Turlock Community Gardens board recommends that all gardeners, volunteers, visitors and employees follow the Covid-19 health and safety precautions set in place by Stanislaus County health services agency, the State of California, and the CDC.

Current State of California recommendations, as of September 6, 2022, for Covid-19 safety in Stanislaus County are as follows:

  1. Wear a mask indoors in public
  2. Stay up-to-date with Covid-19 vaccines
  3. Get tested if you have symptoms
  4. Take additional precautions if you are at high risk.
  5. People with symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with Covid should wear a mask.

Please stay home if you are sick, and wash your hands before and after visiting the garden.
Covid point person: Anna Hazen (farm manager) and Melissa Been (board president).

PLEASE NOTE: The Garden doesn't have a bathroom. Usually if someone needs to go, they go back home, or to a gas station or store.
