Central Coast Center for Independent Living (CCCIL)

Organization Description

CCCIL promotes the independence of people with disabilities by supporting their equal and full participation in life. CCCIL provides advocacy, education and support to people with disabilities, their families and the community. CCCIL is one of a nationwide network of Centers for Independent Living whose philosophy is that we who have disabilities have the right to control our lives and make our own choices.

CCCIL provides the following services: Information and Referral; Individual and Systems Change Advocacy; Benefits Counseling, Housing Assistance; Personal Assistance Services; Peer Support; Independent Living Skills Training; and Assistive Technology, to persons with disabilities who live in the counties of Santa Cruz, Monterey, and San Benito.

Additionally, CCCIL runs the New Options Traumatic Brain Injury Project, one of seven demonstration project sites in California.

CCCIL is part of a nationwide network of Centers for Independent Living (CIL) – 1 of 29 in California – and is the only organization on the Central Coast serving people of all ages with all forms of disabilities in Santa Cruz, Monterey and San Benito Counties.
