Opportunity Summary 

1. Administer community partnership with Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary – 20 hours
2. Select and digitize books for diversity reading groups - 10 hours

3. Read to elementary school students - 2 hours

4. Monitor Zoom reading sessions - 8 hours

Training:

1. Provide an initial orientation with the department faculty supervisor.
2. Train student how to work in the classroom (done by faculty and teachers from King Elementary)

3. Work with student on how to set up and facilitate Zoom reading groups

4. Work with student selecting books for the reading program

Learning Outcomes:

1. Administer community partnership with King Elementary in Santa Ana.
2. Research diversity booklist for grades K-5
3. Coordinate community partnership program with teachers and CSUF students

4. Become familiar with digitizing ebooks
