Opportunity Summary 

Dependent on the time of day that student arrives they will actively engage with children ages 3-5. They will sit with children during meal times and engage in meaningful back and forth conversations, lead teacher will model open ended questions to keep the conversation open and moving forward. Student will move through the different transitions and learn the routine and the techniques the teachers use to move the children smoothly through these transitions. Student will learn to utilize the visual schedule, feelings chart, job charts and withhold the classroom expectation of we are friendly, safe, responsible and respectful by modeling the way. Lead teachers will model positive descriptive acknowledgments with children and encourage the student to use the same skill among the children. The children in our care engage in their own constructive play where the teachers have now become partners in play and facilitating. The student will be coming and playing alongside with the children every day that they are here.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Acquired skills in understanding the different stages of preschool age children, enhance your skills in each level of developmental stages and how to create lesson plans based on the stages.

Opportunity Training 

Site supervisor will provide hands on training through out the time volunteering.
