Environmental Science through Art (ESTA)

Program Information

Contribute environmental health expertise to county-wide implementation of Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) in Monterey County classrooms. CSUMB, CHAMACOS and Monterey Bay Aquarium scientists and educators will participate in the NGSS Collaborative Network, and present research, share curriculum, review and provide input on Monterey County environmental health STEM curriculum, identify environmental health career opportunities, advise on best and emerging practices such as environmental health project-based learning opportunities, provide resources to support STEM education, and support the school districts’ implementation of NGSS standards with the rollout of environmental literacy.

Health & Safety

We do work with K-12 students, but only when their teachers are present-thus CSUMB students are not working with unsupervised minors.
