Volunteer Tutor - UPchieveAt — UPchieve

UPchieve is a free, online tutoring platform that connects low-income students in the US with live, volunteer tutors (that’s you!) any time they need it. Our volunteer tutoring experience was designed to be ultra-flexible because we believe it should be easy for awesome people like you to help students succeed. You can help students from anywhere with an internet connection: whether that be from your desk at work or from the comfort of your couch!

On UPchieve, you’ll work directly with motivated students who can’t afford private tutoring or admissions consulting and often don’t have anyone else they can turn to for help. All our student tutees attend Title 1 schools or live in low-income zip codes.

During tutoring sessions, there are no video cameras and the chat application will not allow inappropriate words or phrases.  Feedback from both parties will be gathered at the end of each session.  This unique interface's safety protocols sets UPchieve apart from other tutoring offerings.

Requirements:

• Tech device and internet connection
• UPchieve platform (primary communication tool)
• Knowledge in specific subject areas, demonstrated by passing UPchieve quizzes
  • Currently looking for tutors with passion and knowledge in:
    • Science: Especially Physics
    • Math: Especially Statistics & Calculus
    • English
    • Social Studies
    • SAT & ACT Prep
