K-12 Tutor/MentorAt — The Village Project, Inc. (TVPI)

Opportunity Summary 

The Village Project, Inc. (TVPI) is currently recruiting tutors and enrichment mentors to help us enhance our students' complete schoolwork and grow personally and academically at our Mae C. Johnson Education and Cultural Enrichment Academy. We are looking for passionate individuals who have the ability to motivate and encourage students.

This opportunity includes:

  • Working with children K-12 of diverse and underserved backgrounds
  • Share a lifelong or academic skill with students
  • Gain new perspectives of how to support your local community
  • Share a talent or skill with students including: foreign language, piano, sewing, theater, knitting/crochet and others
  • Volunteer hours are flexible, create your own schedule!
  • Monday-Friday: 2:30-6:00 pm

Requirements:

  • Background Check (Livescan)
  • TB Test
Opportunity Training 

Training is provided to Service Learners to learn more about their tasks.

Surveying is conducted midway through service as well as after to evaluate and make adjustments for the SL experience. Students are also paired with staff during their service.
