Opportunity Summary 

Big Brothers Big Sisters mission is to build and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the biggest possible futures for Coachella Valley youth. Our program is built on the foundation of human connection - one mentor, one child -developing a relationship that will ignite the potential of youth in our community.

Each mentoring relationship is professionally supported by trained program staff on a regular basis to provide coaching, guidance and support to insure a positive and long-lasting mentoring relationship is developed. We serve the entire Coachella Valley from Palm Springs to Coachella. Children range in age from 6 to 18 and are in need of a mentor toconnect with to spend time together. Mentors are assets to youth when they are experiencing periods of stress, depression, anxiety or academic challenges.

A College Corp Fellow will provide support to the Program Service and Administrative staff. Some of the duties may include

  • scheduling enrollment appointments
  • getting references for prospective volunteers
  • helping with the enrollment of children
  • assisting with group activities with the children and mentors
  • assisting child recruitment efforts and general administrative duties
  • Computer work, phone calls, document organizing and keeping records
