Nature Center DocentAt — City of San Marcos

Opportunity Summary 

Students will assist with opening the Nature Center to the public and supervising families as they explore our themed rooms and exhibits. They will be responsible for opening and closing the facility, making sure families are following Nature Center guidelines and answering questions about the Nature Center and the City of San Marcos.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

Students will learn about the City of San Marcos and its programs, customer service experience and take part in volunteering for their community. They will also be providing a fun and free environment for children and their families to explore the nature aspects that are unique to San Marcos.

Opportunity Training 

A short training on expectations of a docent and guidelines of the facility as well as a brief list of FAQs to provide answers to commonly asked questions regarding the Nature Center and surrounding amenities.

Opportunity Application Instructions 

Students will have many interactions with the public including children. They will need to provide information and support to citizens during each shift.
