Organization Description

The mission of the California Department of Social Services is to serve, aid, and protect needy and vulnerable children and adults in ways that strengthen and preserve families, encourage personal responsibility, and foster independence.

Program Information

The student will be tasked with readings, activities that involve the Office of the Assistant Deputy Director which the student does not belong to. The student will be in contact with staff and interest groups that they would not otherwise have frequent or any contact with. The intern will be developing documents, leading/facilitating state support workgroups, and will be participating in the creation of an Early Childhood Data System as well as engage in contract bargaining agreements.
