UPchieve
UPchieve is a free, online tutoring platform that connects low-income students in the US with volunteer tutors any time they need it. UPchieve has over 25 subjects tutors can get certified in to help bridge the learning gap for some of our nation's most underserved youth. To date, UPchieve has served over 40,000 students, 97% of whom reported our site helped improve their grades. With the support of CSU volunteer tutors and others like them, UPchieve aims to serve all 8 million low-income students by July 15th, 2030, by 9 am.
Our unique online platform allows students to securely work with youth in a one-on-one chat room. There are no video cameras during tutoring sessions and UPchieve's chat application will not allow inappropriate words or phrases to be sent. Feedback from both parties will be gathered at the end of each session and reviewed by the organization's staff. In addition, CSU students will have 24/7 access to UPchieve staff and other tutors on the site to ask questions and get immediate support through Slack.
