Ventura County Continuum of Care

Organization Description

The Ventura County Continuum of Care (VC CoC) is a collaborative group dedicated to addressing, preventing and ending homelessness in Ventura County. The group is comprised of community advocates, housing providers, county agencies, housing authorities, health care providers, city administrators, and non-profit organizations. VC CoC receives grant funding from federal and state sources for emergency shelter, rental assistance, housing navigation, homeless prevention, permanent supportive housing and street outreach programs.

Health & Safety

VC CoC serves people experiencing homelessness who may have behavioral health issues, substance use disorders, and various disabling conditions. Depending on the project, some interactions with clients may include people with these challenges.

Additional requirements and/or considerations
  • RISK: Students may be working with behaviorally challenged populations.
  • SUPERVISION: Students will be supervised less than 50% of the time or the supervisor will be responsible for overseeing more than 8 people.
