Coach Intern - UnchainedAt — UnChained Inc.
Coach Intern: Internship is prerequisite to working as a Coach at Unchained.
Coaches:
- Observe and log detailed information during class.
- Assist in handling, managing, and cleaning-up after dogs.
- Learn technical skills in clicker training
This opportunity will be working working with at risk youth and is a great way to see restorative justice at work. In addition, coaaches get to work with vetted program pups who love treats and are happy to wag their tails for you.

Locations:
- Rancho Cielo Youth Campus, 710 Old Stage Rd, Salinas, CA 93908
- Monterey County Youth Center, 970 Circle Dr, Salinas, CA 93905
- Must be able to get to these locations, as public transport may not always run nearby
Time Commitment:
Minimum time requirement is two days per week for two 8-week sessions for one year. This exceeds the service learning requirement, so only pursue this opportunity if you can truly commit to one year with Unchained.
Requirements:

We have a day-of training to help participants understand the Canines Teaching Compassion Program, and learn basic dog behaviors and safety, as well was learn what the probation department rules and regulations when working with youth.
Trainers and leadership will be at each session, we do a meeting before and after each session to debrief and discuss opportunities and challenges and provide any coaching to help set students up for success.
There is inherent risk in working with live animals. The dogs are well trained and safety protocols are in place.
