Youth Program Mentor (Police Activities League)At — SAFE Family Justice Centers

Opportunity Summary 

Mentors for our Police Activities League (PAL) will assist with facilitating SAFE FJC’s youth groups, fostering mentor relationships with kids and teens aged 5-18 years old. Volunteers in this role will get the opportunity to encourage the development of strength, courage, confidence, honesty, and communication skills emboldening the future generation to grow as respectful leaders and connected allies in their communities.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

How to develop and facilitate evidenced-based curriculum. In addition, students will be able to learn how to engage with youth ages 5-18 with trauma and/or juvenile justice backgrounds.

Opportunity Training 

Students will receive mandated reporter training, national police activities league training, facilitator training, and other ongoing up to date training on youth and youth development.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Students will need to pass a livescan and background check.
