Opportunity Summary 

While parents and supervisors are onsite, students at Raíces y Cariño will utilize psychological principles such as Adlerian psychology and Attachment Theory to foster the engagement of children ages 0-5, elementary, and adolescent in developmentally appropriate STEAM and art activities, foster secure attachment to parents & caregivers, and facilitate cross cultural connections between families.

Opportunity Training 

Staff from Positive Discipline Community Resources; Tina McRorie of McRorie Parenting, (Masters in Clinical Psychology); Nora Yerena (Certified Family Life Educator) will all provide training and mentoring in the above listed skills, principles, and techniques.

Nora Yerena will be present in-person for majority of service learning hours. Staff from PDCR and and Tina McRorie will be engaging with service learners during events, classes, and support groups.
